52 PICKUP
Happy Thursday, my faithful friends. I’m currently on vacation, but this writer never rests, so in honor of you taking this ride with me through a full year of blog posts, I’ve composed a quirky little poem incorporating each week’s topic title to mark the occasion.
For those of you who’ve been with me right along, this sort of post is what you’ve come to expect. If you’re new to In Pursuit of Perspective, I hope you’ll peruse some of these titles for yourself. That way, you’ll understand how my goal is to bring some fun, laughter, and good vibes into your busy life.
Now, sit back, sip your beverage of choice, and let me remind you of all the fun we’ve had together these past fifty-two weeks.
WHAT’S YOUR STORY, your PERSPECTIVE, did you FIND EVERYTHING OKAY?
THE HARDEST PART, call it DECIDOPHOBIA if you may,
is to FIND YOUR SCHOOL BUS, but there’s really NO WRONG WAY.
I’ve introduced you to A BOY NAMED JIMMY and implored you to BUILD SOMETHING,
while asking you to LOVE EVERY SEASON, my favorite one is SPRING.
I have asked you to LISTEN UP, while PUMPING YOU UP.
To BE NICE, since TIME FLIES, and sometimes it’s 365 TO LIFE.
Some titles were intriguing, such as STRIPTEASE,
Others confusing, I mean WTF are BOUNTY-FUL DICKIES?
We’ve discussed THE F-WORD, that naughty little expression,
eaten AN APPLE A DAY, been HOODWINKED, while seeking REDEMPTION.
Some of my posts were TOTES MAGOTES, while others were lame it seems,
I still took it ONE BEAT AT A TIME, while wishing you SWEET DREAMS.
I DO DECLARE that I tried like heck,
even asked your preference, STAR WARS OR STAR TREK.
From SUMMERTIME SHIFT and TO-DO LISTS, it’s been a real hoot,
though I WONDER, if it’s ALL ABOUT ME, can YOU still DO YOU?
You’ve been STONEWALLED, told to JUST STOP IT, and to DO YOUR JOB,
but LET’S PLAY IT BY EAR as you LITERALLY have a DANCE OFF.
HIGH NOON AT THE EZ-GO CORRAL was an original piece,
yet so were LET’S COUPLE and the acronym DLTOMI.
You liked KITTENS, SISTERS, AND TWO RED CHAIRS,
then played THAT FUNKY MUSIC without any cares.
WILL YOU TAKE A BUCK made you just a bit suspicious,
but all was good with MAKING UP AT CHRISTMAS.
Hopefully, I AM NOT A BIKER gave you some pause,
same with GLORIOUS and 14 ACROSS.
For reading my RANDOM AND RIDICULOUS RANTS,
I just have to tell you all: HEY, THANKS.
Above all it’s been quite a year to build upon,
so I’ll keep writing this blog, since THE SHOW MUST GO ON.
And there you have it! A year’s worth of fun, laughs, and introspection. As the last line in the poem suggests, I will continue doing my best to bring more of these attributes to you each week. Let’s work together and keep the chain of love going by making each day the best ever for someone else. We can do this!
